Ever wished you could have your vegan cake… and eat it too? Proudly plant-based business The Cake People has won Gold, Silver, and Bronze at the Victoria Baking Show – proving that vegan baking is a cut above the rest! 🍰🏆🌿

Melbourne’s family-owned, 100% vegan bakery, The Cake People, just ate up the competition and left no crumbs, winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze at the prestigious Baking Association of Australia’s Victoria Baking Show for their slices of plant-based heaven. And the icing on the cake? This wasn’t even a vegan competition – they were competing against traditional cakes, too!

“These awards aren’t just wins for us – they’re proof that plant-based baking is on par with, if not better than, conventional baking,” say founders Joanne and Stephen.

“We’ve always believed that you don’t need eggs or dairy to make cakes that taste amazing, and these awards confirm it.”

So which plant-based creations took the cake? The team won Gold for their Billionaire Biscoff Cake, Silver for the Midnight Red Velvet Cake, and Bronze for the Jammy Marshmallow Cake – and it’s not hard to see why 😍

The Cake People’s deliciousness, quality, kindness, and sustainability ethos is baked into their business model. They’ve spent years refining their craft and lovingly designing their vegan cakes to deliver the same level of indulgence as traditional alternatives. (Or as their recent wins would suggest: even more!)

From rich dairy-free buttercream and classic sponge-cake bases to luscious chocolate ganache and all manner of show-stopping, melt-in-your-mouth layers in between – every single one of their cakes is a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.

Our journey started with a commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and making plant-based cakes that are just as rich, moist, and flavourful as any other.

With every ingredient ethically sourced and all of their recipes crafted to be 100% plant-based and delicious, it’s safe to say our sweet-toothed friends at The Cake People have succeeded on their mission to create cakes without compromise.

They’ve long been showing their customers and the baking world how mind-blowing egg-free and dairy-free desserts can be – and now they have the awards to prove it!

Meet Liv!

Having grown up in a “meat and 3 veg” kind of household, Liv’s embarrassed to admit that she was a bit of a one-note chef until she began exploring the world of plant-based food. Vegan cooking has given her a whole new appreciation for the symphonies of flavours that simple, nourishing wholefood ingredients can create. (Even eggplant, once her greatest nemesis, is now — in a delicious, miso-glazed redemption arc — her all-time favourite veg.)
