Banana Oat Cookies

One of the easiest cookie recipes you’ll ever find, this is a great one to hand over to the kids when they’re keen to develop their baking skills! The nutritious ingredients list means they can go wild munching on them too 😉

You will need:

  • 2 medium bananas, peeled
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup crunchy or smooth peanut butter, or any other nut or seed butter
  • ¼ cup maple or rice malt syrup
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt


  • 1Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray.
  • 2Add the bananas to a medium bowl and mash well. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until well combined. The mixture should be sturdy but moist. If your mixture falls apart easily, add a little more rolled oats and mix again.
  • 3Wet your hands, grab a spoonful (about 2 tablespoons) of the mixture and place it on the lined baking tray. Repeat until you’ve used up the mixture. You should have about 16 cookies.
  • 4Bake the cookies in the oven for 15-20 mins or until the cookies are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking tray and enjoy.

Variation: Depending on your taste preferences, you may like to add in vanilla extract, chocolate chips, dried fruit, or nuts -- this recipe is highly adaptable!
