Who knew sauerkraut could fry up into something this golden and delicious? These easy fritters bring a satisfying crunch with a touch of zing, perfect for dipping into creamy plant-based sour cream.

You will need

Serves 4

  • 100g sauerkraut of your choosing with any flavours
  • 100g red or white cabbage, shredded or cut finely
  • 50ml plant-based milk or water
  • 100g self-raising flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for shallow frying
  • Plant-based sour cream (mixed with lemon juice and chopped fresh dill, to taste)

  1. Step 1

    Place all the ingredients in a bowl and massage well until it comes together.

  2. Step 2

    Heat a pan on medium heat with a little oil or plant-based butter.

  3. Step 3

    Place a tablespoon or the size you like in the frying pan, cook evenly on both sides, for about 3 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Remove from the pan, season, and serve with lemon-dill sour cream!
