If you ever thought it was hard to make tofu taste delicious (fair enough! It’s a blank canvas, after all.) then this recipe is here to win you over. It’s SO easy, uses ingredients you probably already have in the kitchen, and will make a tofu-lover out of even the biggest skeptics.
You will need
Serves 2
- 450 grams firm tofu, cubed
- 1/4 cup of cornflour
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon of ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (tamari if gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
- 1 cup of water
To serve:
- Rice
- Green veggies of choice (Pak Choy etc.)
- Sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1
Cut tofu into cubes; pop them in a mixing bowl with cornflour and toss to completely coat the tofu with cornflour.

In a saucepan, heat oil. Add tofu to the pan and cook until golden.

Mix together the garlic, ginger, maple syrup, soy sauce, tomato sauce, and water, then add it to the pan and stir through.

Let it cook until the sauce thickens.

Sprinkle sesame seeds over tofu, and serve with rice and greens of your choice.
